Over the summer, The Paintbrush was asked to take part in the launch of the newest Bookwallah program; making quilts for the orphans in India. Our August Summer Art campers enthusiastically worked on not one, but two, beautiful quilts. I was asked to give each quilt a theme, so one is Art (that wasn't too hard to come up with!) and the other is the Alphabet. For the Art quilt, each child copied a famous painting onto the quilt. For the Alphabet quilt, each child, using the first letter of their name, came up with something to draw that started with their letter, whether it be a doll for "D" or airplanes flying around an "A".

They were a lot of work, but the children did a magnificent job!
